This Manitoba Artist has been displaying his work since 1970. His subjects include wildlife and local scenery, in a variety of original styles. A graduate of the University of Manitoba School of Art and member of the Manitoba Society of Artists, Larry has won numerous awards in juried art shows.
Art Over Easy

Art Over Easy was a radio show in the mid-1970s celebrating Winnipeg's underground art scene. Hosted by Mark Jenkyns, owner and operator of Subway Galleries (and later the Gallery at Sets in the 1990s), these historical interviews provide insight into the creativity of the vibrant art scene in Manitoba, Canada. New episodes will become available periodically.
Tony Allison (1946 - 2006) painted from the heart, celebrating the area around Flin Flon ...rugged and full of texture. This was reflected in his abstracts and texturology landscapes. Tony was the opening show in our Calgary gallery while continuing to explore his rugged landscapes. He too worked through a surrealistic period exploring the struggle of the mind.
Arthur was a great friend of mine for 25 years and member of my Subway Group. Early on, he gave my wife and I a couple of love seats that he and Katherine were replacing as, being newly married, Kris and I did not have much more than each other, art, and a dream.
His work toured Europe with the National Gallery.
Arthur Horsfall was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he studied at the Winnipeg School of Art with L.L. Fitzgerald and Joe Plaskett, he also participated in summer workshops with Kenneth Lochhead and Roy Kiyooka. He was a commercial catalogue illustrator and used his experience as a commercial artist to depict buildings and street scenes.Arthur Horsfall RCA was a member of the 1970s Subway Group (of Artists) in Winnipeg.
Art Over Easy 1976 interview with Luther Pokrant MA MSA RCA. Luther Pokrant studied art at the University of Manitoba and received his M.A. at New Mexico State. Inspired by the natural beauty of Manitoba’s forests and lakes, his love of fishing and canoeing is reflected in colourful landscapes and water lily paintings. His historical and commemorative illustrations are featured in corporate board rooms and various publications. Elaborately detailed and painted 3-dimensional boxes are extensions of these ideas. He is a member of the Manitoba Society of Artists and the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts.
Art Over Easy 1976 interview with Frans Johannes Visscher BFA 1929-2014. Frans came to Canada from Holland. He loves the rural predicament which includes the farm settings. He has 9 years in horticulture and science and 3 in art at the University of Manitoba. There is a European Chagall inference in his works and a sociology to the subjectsin his pastels and paintings.
Art Over Easy 1976 Interview with Winnipeg artist Robert Achtemichuk MFA. Robert Achtemichuk was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. His undergraduate degree is in Fine Arts from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg focusing on printmaking and egg tempra painting. He then studied in France, Mexico and Toronto. Achtemichuk’s work appears in public galleries and private collections across Canada and abroad, in Brussels, Paris, and Mexico City.
Art Over Easy 1976 interview with Wade Jones BFA 1945-2008. Wade Jones was a real master in his wooden and mixed media sculptures. His haunting and surreal abstracted works are truly inspirational. Wade was a principal artist and supporter of the Subway group concept. He worked in Winnipeg and for a time in Japan before returning to Winnipeg.
